Eti Bakır’s “Environmental Inspectors” Project to Reach 5,130 Students This Year

Integrating environmental and social benefits into its production processes, Eti Bakır will reach 5,130 students across nine provinces this year through its “Environmental Inspectors” project, launched to help pass sustainability awareness on to future generations. Through training sessions covering 11 topics, from environmental awareness to recycling, the company aims to help future generations contribute to the goal of creating a more livable world.

Launched in 2021 by Eti Bakır, a group company of Cengiz Holding, the “Environmental Inspectors” project continues its sustainability-focused educational activities this year. Through training sessions covering 11 topics, including environmental awareness, recycling and nature conservation, Eti Bakır aims to reach a total of 5,130 students across the nine locations where it operates, continuing to support the development of environmentally conscious individuals.

Emphasizing that a sustainable future is only possible with generations that have a strong awareness of environmental issues, Eti Bakır Environmental Director Yusuf Topçu said:

“We are continuing our responsibility to raise students’ environmental awareness to a higher level this year as well. Our primary objective with this project is to help raise young generations with a strong sense of environmental responsibility. We launched the Environmental Inspectors project with this understanding, and we are expanding our impact by reaching more students every year.

“Through our educational programs that encourage the protection of nature, we explain the difference between garbage and waste, as well as the concepts of zero waste and recycling. Together with our environmental engineers and students, we are continuing to build a sustainable future, while aiming to help future generations contribute to the goal of creating a more livable world.

“Including the previous years, the total number of students reached through the project will exceed 12,000. Reaching these numbers makes us extremely happy and motivates us to continue our efforts.”

THE ENVIRONMENTAL INSPECTORS PROJECT CONTINUES AT FULL PACE

Through the Environmental Inspectors project, Eti Bakır has provided sustainability training to a total of 7,164 students at 164 schools since 2021 and aims to reach an additional 5,130 students this year.

Eti Bakır’s environmental engineers are meeting with students in Adıyaman, Artvin, Elazığ, Çanakkale (Truva Bakır), İzmir, Kastamonu, Siirt, Samsun and Mardin, with the aim of emphasizing the importance of developing environmental awareness from an early age.

As part of the project, during the 2024–2025 academic year, Eti Bakır reached 335 students at six schools in Adıyaman, 853 students at eight schools in Artvin, 1,000 students at 11 schools in İzmir, 400 students at six schools in Kastamonu, and 550 students at three schools in Siirt. Through topics such as recycling, the environment, energy conservation and zero waste, Eti Bakır is raising students’ awareness and helping them pass this awareness on to future generations.
