Purchase by Cengiz Holding via privatization project, the company deals with copper mining at Kastamonu Kure and Artvin Murgul facilities and operates the copper smelting factories at Samsun plants.

Production of Copper and Pyrite Concentrate at Eti Copper Kastamonu Küre facilities are realized with an annual capacity of 1.000.000 tons touvenant ore, 90.000 tons Copper Concentrate and 400.000 tons Pyrite Concentrate and The Murgul plant extracts raw copper ore over 2.700.000 tons per year through 3 open mines, and processes to produce 75.000 tons of copper concentrate per year for supply of Concentrate Copper to Samsun Smelting Facilities.

The Kure Mines and Samsun Smelter plants launched in 1973 for the purpose of processing the copper ore deposits at the Black Sea region, joined into Cengiz Holding’s structure in 2004, the Murgul facilities joined into Cengiz Holding’s structure in 2006.

Today, Samsun Smelter factory is the sole facility that produces copper from ore. Samsun Facilities consist of Smelting, Sulfuric Acid and Concentrator Factories. In addition, a Hydroelectric Power Plant at an installed capacity of 2x2,35 MW at Murgul Mining Facility, has been going on to generate power in frame of Production License.
